Connecting ActiveCampaign to Tellescope
In your ActiveCampaign account, navigate to Settings > Developer. You should see a URL and a Key.
Go to the Integrations page in Tellescope, find and click the ActiveCampaign card, and provide the URL and Key from ActiveCampaign. If you provided an invalid URL or Key, you should see an error message in Tellescope before the connection is complete
Custom Field Mapping
Tellescope automatically maps some field to ActiveCampaign (first name, last name, email, and phone number). Custom fields can be configured in addition to these. You only need to map the fields that you want Tellescope to sync to ActiveCampaign. Other fields can be safely left out of the configuration.
The user who connected ActiveCampaign to Tellescope should see a "Configure Custom Fields" button on their ActiveCampaign card after it has been integrated. This may require a page refresh once after making the initial connection. Click the button to edit the custom field mapping.
The Custom fields you have configured in ActiveCampaign should appear on the right side of your screen for reference. You can then create a list on the left side with the Tellescope custom field, the ID of the corresponding ActiveCampaign field, and the type of the corresponding ActiveCampaign field. We currently list up to 100 custom fields from ActiveCampaign.
Syncing Tellescope Contacts to ActiveCampaign
Once you have followed the previous steps to connect and configure ActiveCampaign, Journeys should make a new action available called "Sync to ActiveCampaign".
When a contact reaches this step in a Journey:
- If they match an existing contact in ActiveCampaign (by email address), the two contacts will be linked, and the contact in ActiveCampaign fields will be updated based on the Tellescope contact
- If they don't match an existing contact in ActiveCampaign, we create a new one and link it back to the Tellescope contact
Contacts must have an email defined in Tellescope for the sync to work, because this is a required field in ActiveCampaign. From here, future updates made to the contact in Tellescope will sync as updates to the contact in ActiveCampaign.
Syncing ActiveCampaign Campaign Sends to Tellescope Contacts
When sending a Campaign in ActiveCampaign to one or more lists of contacts, Tellescope can be notified about the new campaign. Tellescope loads all of the contacts from these lists in ActiveCampaign, finds the corresponding Tellescope contacts, and adds a note to each matching contacts' timeline that indicates the title of the campaign and when it was sent.
To enable this: In ActiveCampaign, go to Settings > Developer and click "Manage Webhooks"
Add a Webhook named "Tellescope" and use the URL:
https://api.tellescope.com/v1/webhooks/activecampaign/YOUR_BUSINESS_ID_HERE
Replace YOUR_BUSINESS_ID_HERE with the value found next to your organization's name in Tellescope (Settings > Organization)
