Why Use Bridge?
Bridge allows you automatically verify patient insurance eligibility in real-time, help patients to understand their coverage, and ensure patients book appointments with providers who are in-network.
Integration Features
Payer Search
Leverage Bridge as a data source in the Insurance question type in a Tellescope Form to allow the patient to pick from your supported payers
Eligibility Check
After collecting a patient's insurance as part of a Tellescope Form, you can perform a real-time eligibility check using the Bridge Eligibility Check question type. You can perform a Soft check (faster, less expensive) or a Hard check (slower, more accurate) depending on your needs.
Appointment Booking
After an Eligibility Check is performed, Tellescope becomes aware of the available providers for a given patient. You can then surface their availability in a Tellescope Form by using the Appointment Booking Page question type.
Connecting Bridge with Tellescope
API Key
In Bridge, you're able to navigate to a developers page and access an API key. In Tellescope, on the Integrations page, find the "Bridge" card. Click it, select your Bridge environment, and save the API key.
User Configuration
Tellescope Availability
You should configure your providers' availabilities in Tellescope. Please refer to our availability-specific documentation if you need help with this. Availability configuration works the same way regardless of Bridge.
User Matching (Bridge <> Tellescope)
In your Tellescope settings, you can find a list of Users in your account, with an "id" in the leftmost column. You can click to highlight this ID to copy the full value. For every provider in Tellescope, the corresponding provider in Bridge must have this Tellescope User ID value saved as the "externalId". Without this, we won't be able to display the right Users' availability in Tellescope.
Form Configuration
You will configure 1 or more Forms in Tellescope to allow patients to provide their insurance information, check their eligibility, and book appointments with the relevant providers.
Here's an example form which collects insurance, branches based on the desired appointment type, displays eligibility for the relevant services, and then allows patients to book an appointment:
Insurance Question Type
To support Bridge, make sure you pick "Bridge" as the data source for this question type.
Bridge Eligibility Question Type
Specify the Bridge Service Type IDs (these can be found in Bridge). At least 1 is required. When more than one is provided, we show the availability for eligible providers of ANY service type. Using multiple service types is useful if you have 1 appointment type that can be served by both MDs and PAs, resulting in 2 or more service types in Bridge
Appointment Booking Question Type
Set up this type as normal, just be sure to check "Use Bridge Eligibility Result" to leverage eligible providers from a previous Bridge Eligibility Question
