In the past, when a patient is booking an appointment using Tellescope's booking pages, there were two options:
- Book with a qualified provider at random (eg. if two providers were qualified and available at 11am, and the patient chose that slot, the appointment would be booked with one of the providers at random).
- Allow patients to choose whom they are booking with. This is described here.
As an extension to #1, you can now control which staff member should be booked first when patients are scheduling appointments via a calendar booking page. If there is an 11am slot available and two providers are qualified and available for that slot, the one with the higher Priority will be booked first.
All provider availabilities are set to "5" by default, and can be adjusted up and down accordingly. A priority of 5 for all providers would lead to a random booking with an available/qualified provider, as all are equally likely to be selected.
